A Saturday Full of Frills: PortCon's 2018 Lolita Fashion Panel

I recently attended a local anime and gaming convention known as PortCon. This Portland, Maine based convention is one of my favorite geek events to visit. I have attended this convention for many years, but there were some exciting new events at this convention that I am very excited to share!

Saturday was the most exciting date of the week. After many weeks of preparation, Shanisa and I were ready. The two of us held an Introduction to Lolita Fashion panel early on Saturday morning.

Panel

We had a good turnout for a panel so early! I was nervous at first, but the panel went really well. I was very impressed with the questions of the attendees. The coordinates of the lolitas that were present were lovely to see. It was wonderful to share our experience in the fashion with fellow fans of this frilly style. After the panel, It was wonderful to learn that the presentation had been helpful to beginner lolitas and curious attendees! Shanisa and I will be sure to host another J-fashion panel again in the future.

The random distribution of my handmade surprise prizes was a fun added bonus to the event. It was wonderful to see that the little souvenirs were happily received. If you missed the event, you are able to view our slideshow here on my YouTube channel any time! We plan to film the panel next year.

Surprise Video Shoot

After the panel Shanisa and I participated in a promotional video! Shanisa and I had a variety of suggested activities and poses to do while the videographer did his thing. It was a complete impromptu event, but we had so much fun! I cannot wait to see what pieces made it into the video.

Picture Time

Once the video shoot was finished, it was time for photos! I liked that our lolita coordinates for the day complimented one another! It was nice to get some snapshots before our next event began.

We were sure to bring our dolls along to the photo session. I brought my doll Hitomi, and Vanessa brought her doll Michiko. It was a lot of fun to dress Hitomi in a lolita coordinate that matched mine!

Coordinate:

✔ Headbow (Angelic Pretty)
✔ Sugar Hair Clip (BB&B Deco)
✔ Blouse (Glitter Tale)
✔ Jumperskirt (MAXICIMAM)
✔ Bracelet Swimmer (Swimmer)
✔ Wristcuffs, Shoes (Bodyline)
✔ Jewelry (Me)

Who knew that Saturday would turn out to be so much fun? Thanks for reading and remember to Stay Frilly~
