Shopping and Cafe Lolita Meetup
Fun in frills
Nothing beats a great time with awesome company, good food, and jewelry shopping! My local Lolita community met up in a local town to have lunch and browse some local second hand, antique, and boutiques along the main street. We had a fantastic time at the meet-up! It was very nice to have the opportunity to discover some new shops in town, as well as dine at a local and delicious cafe. The weather was absolutely gorgeous for our outing, which was an added bonus!
We started our Lolita meet at CIA cafe. CIA has multiple locations throughout Southern Maine. The cafe features a menu of tasty treats, irresistible sandwiches, and delectable beverages. This particular location was conveniently located next to the numerous shops that we wanted to browse.
The staff at the cafe were extremely friendly at this location! We purchased some delicious desserts for lunch and the enthusiastic woman behind the counter, possibly the owner treated us to some complimentary drinks! It was a lot of fun to receive such a positive and spirited reaction. Shanisa and I were even featured on CIA's Facebook page! Not only were the staff fantastic, but CIA's iced tea, iced coffee, and their gluten-free cookie with jam was nothing short of delicious! I just love sweets.
Our first destination on our shopping trip was Heart's Desire. Shanisa recommended this shop as one of our stops, and I can easily see why! This Saco consignment shop has hundreds of clothing, jewelry, accessories, shoes, and bags to choose from! It was very easy to spend most of my shopping allowance at this particular shop. I purchased a few bracelets, necklaces, earrings, brooches and hair pieces to add to my Lolita collection, This is definitely a shop I will have to visit on a continual basis.
We stumbled across a beautiful cemetery after we purchased a few cold drinks. The sun, which had been absent for most of the day, gave us about twenty minutes of sun. We took advantage of this small miracle and took a few photos. The scenery was so lovely, that we made plans to host a Halloween photo shoot at this location in a few weeks. Next time, I have to bring my lovely camera!
It has been so much fun to have a live community once again! I love the excuse to meet with other Lolitas in person to discuss our favorite brands, recent purchases and plan future Lolita meetups.
Have you had any particular fun meetups lately? I would love to about your experiences!
