New Year's Resolutions and 2018 Highlights

As the year 2018 comes to a close, I cannot help but be very optimistic! After all, it has been one incredible year! Before I make my goals for 2019, I want to cover the lolita highlights for 2018.

2018 Highlights

PortCon

I had a fantastic Portcon experience! There was my first convention lolita tea party, co-hosting the lolita 101 panel, photo shoot sessions with friends and coordinate explanations with videographers. I was so much fun to be with my friends and make new connections. I can't wait for the next one.

Cirque du Geek

This local convention was a blast! It was my first time attending, but it will not be my last! I was fortunate enough to have been selected for the artist alley. In addition to vending, I hosted a ball-jointed doll panel with my friend Vanessa! Between selling my handmade items and the presentation, I was able to connect with so many interesting people. I'm excited to do even more here next year!

Fairy Princess, Haenuli

This year, I purchased my first items from Haenuli. When the crystal guardian's series was released, I just had to have it! Between the quality of the items and the customer service, I am beyond impressed. Moving forward, I plan to keep supporting this brand!

2019 Resolutions

1. Expand My Wardrobe

I now have a comfortable number of dresses in my wardrobe. Rather than add more main pieces to my collection this year, I want to celebrate the pieces that I already own. From accessories to jewelry, I plan to purchase items that will compliment my current dresses. These items may include shoes, socks, bags boleros, blouses, and jewelry. Let's see if I can resist the temptation to purchase another dress!

2. Experiment with Makeup

I tend to do very natural makeup. Aside from some foundation, blush, mascara and the occasional application of eyeshadow, that's about the extent of my makeup. On Halloween however, I got a taste of a more theatrical makeup style. The new year gives me a great excuse to experiment with false eyelashes, eyeliner, body glitter, eyeshadow, rhinestones, lipstick, highlights, contour.

The goal is to let loose and have fun with over-the-top make up to match an OTT coordinate. For my more classic pieces, I want to try a more doll-ish look. Makeup is not my strong suit, but I'm still excited to try it all!

3. Take More Photos

I'm bring a goal back from the previous year! While I did do a much better job of coordinate photos in 2018, they were still few and far between. Between lolita meets, videos, and weekend excuses I have had a lot of opportunities for lolita photos! Unfortunately, not all of the occasions have photos.

This year, I intend to take more photographs of full lolita coordinates, planned coordinates, wardrobe pieces, new arrivals, lolita makeup.

Who doesn't love lolita photos? I will post the images here on my blog, of course! If you'd like to see more of my lolita-related pictures, follow me on Instagram and Facebook so you don't miss them!

What are your 2019 goals? Did you complete some of your 2018 resolutions? I'd love to know!

Stay Frilly~
