Why Wigs? My Love of Wigs with Lolita Fashion
Wigs are immensely popular in lolita fashion. When I became interested in lolita fashion around 2006, wigs with lolita was uncommon! As a self-confessed wig collector, I am happy to say that things have changed since 2006!
So, why are wigs so popular in our niche fashion? What are some reasons that wigs are used? Here are my thoughts and reasons!
1. It's Convenient
Are you running late to a meet and you don't have time to style your hair? Are you having a bad hair day? A wig a great option for these scenarios! I love being able to change my hairstyle with minimal effort. The fact that I have an instant hairstyle saves me time, too!
2. Make the Impossible, Possible
Do you have a specific hairstyle in mind for a lolita coordinate? How about a look that requires volume? Want to keep the style for future use? Wigs can help! A wig can make an impossible look possible. Wigs can be cut, sewn together, dyed, and styled into the perfect look you need!
3. Freedom
Are you looking for a completely different style from your natural hair to fit a specific accessory? Want to add some color without dying your hair? How about something more manageable for a casual outfit? A wig may just be your answer! After suffering a horrible chemical burn as a child, my hair is unable to grow past a certain length. My wig collection allows me to pick the perfect color and length to compliment any lolita coordinate! I love the flexibility and creative freedom wigs bring.
