How To Create a Lolita Fashion Blog
2. Brainstorm your content
In order to maintain your blog, you will need to provide content that your readers will enjoy. There are some general topic ideas that you may use to add quality material to your overall blog.
✓ Coordinate Posts
✓ Product Reviews
✓ Your reaction to Lolita Releases
✓ Lolita For Beginners
✓ Public Reactions
✓ Order Hauls
✓ Hair and Make Up Tutorials
✓ Do-It-Yourself Crafts
✓ Lolita How-Tos
and more!
There are also numerous challenges and tags you can use as content for your blog, such as the Lolita 52 Challenge. Any unique content that you create is always welcomed among your reader, such as my 7 Deadly Sins Lolita Challenge. Fresh and new concepts are often promoted for you by other Lolitas and lolita groups. As you most likely know, the more exposure to your lolita blog the better!
3. Find a home for your blog.
Where do you want to house your blog? Would you like to host your blog on your own website, or use a blog platform that has already been create? There are numerous applications available to you. I have listed a few options below. These three websites are user-friendly and easy to customize, too:
✓ Blogger
✓ Blog Lovin
✓ Medium
There are numerous free blog applications, so do your research!
This is a great way to see if you can maintain a blog before you pay for your own website. While my blog now exists solely on my personal website, I did not start out that way! My lolita blog started out as a free blog on Blogger.com under the name For the Love of Frills! I glad I utilized Blogger before I payed for my website domain and subscription. It allowed me to experiment, risk-free.
4. Stay Consistent
Create a schedule and stick to it! Your potential readers will appreciate a blog that updates on a scheduled basis. Not only will it help them to know when to check back in with you, but it will also show your readers that you will continue. A schedule will also allow you to hold yourself accountable for your content. Can you create bonus posts? Of course, you can! I create bonus posts when there is time-sensitive content. Just be sure to post your weekly blog post on the same day!
5. Invest in a good quality camera.
iPhone 5C Camera
Nikon Digital Camera
I cannot stress this suggestion enough. A quality camera will add so much value to your content. Whether it is a coordinate shot or a product review, a superior camera will make your pictures great! These images of Angelic Pretty's Melty Cream Doughnut easily show the differences between my iPhone 5C camera and my Nikon digital camera. The Nikon camera allows for more details of the print to show and allows for a more balanced display of color. Not to mention my Nikon shots are huge and allow for me to shrink the original to whatever size I desire. Photos are essential to the continued success of your fashion blog. You can provide your readers with your writing skills, but you can present them with visual content through your digital photography.
Most high quality digital cameras can double as a video recorder for any lolita channel, too!
and most importantly,
Most importantly, my best advice is to be yourself. Not only can your readers sense any falsities to your personality, but you will want to be yourself when you read back through your experiences. There is nothing better being able to see how far you have come!
I hope this blog post was informative to you soon to be lolita bloggers! Be sure to reach out with any questions you have and send me your blog once it is started so I can follow your journey.
