Crystal Guardians: Fairy Princess vs The Story You Don’t Know
With the recent release of Haenuli's Crystal Guardians: Fairy Princess and the re-release of the popular The Story You Don't Know series; a competition has erupted between these two dresses and the contents of my wallet. Which one of these stunning series will become a part of my wardrobe?
While I am primarily a Sweet Lolita, I have a fondness for the darker elements in life in addition to all of the sweetness. I can often be found getting lost in elaborate CreepyPasta stories, watching horror films, or crafting my own fantastical dark stories with my inspirational little monster Lilith nearby. My secret love for the unknown is just clawing away to be expressed. This simultaneous pre-order event by Haenuli will be the first time I would have to make a quick decision between two parts of myself!
The Story You Don’t Know
Nothing makes quite a statement like a fully Gothic inspired dress with a skeleton rib cage and an upside-down pentagram! I absolutely adore the boldness of the occult designs with the detailed and dark illustration. The possibilities for complimentary accessories with this look are almost endless!
This Jumperskirt design in the release maintains the Gothic style with an ornate framed human skull as the centerpiece. There is no mistaking the dark fantasy features in this dress.
Each piece in the release is certainly a show-stopper. While it is difficult for me to select a favorite piece in this series, I have found that I have a certain fondness for a particular dress and accessory. The Jumperskirt that features the rib cage and the matching bonnet featured above are pieces that I absolutely have to add to my wardrobe! The stunning print, Gothic and occult details, and the flattering cut of the dress within soft chiffon is more than my little dark heart can possibly resist!
Crystal Guardians: Fairy Princess
The Jumperskirt design for this series is incredibly princess-like, well befitting the release name. The bodice of this dress is unique and simply elegant. The ruffled ribbon at the top of the bodice creates a tidy bow. The gem claps at the center of the bow tie the overall piece together extremely well.
As with the Jumperskirt, the One-piece dress has all of the elements that make this release fit for a princess! The sleeves on the OP are reminiscent of the more recent designs of new magical girl attire. I am especially fond of the bodice of the navy and black colorway for this overall regal design.
The headdress is a perfect accessory for a fairy-like princess look, especially with the additional charm and pearl attachment that Haenuli offers. The bows are detachable, if you would like some flexibility with your coordinate, or if you need to be able to fend off unwanted fiends expectantly.
There is never the wrong time to add a matching head bow to a dress or skirt as an accessory! This particular head bow adds another easy and lovely addition to the overall magical girl theme. The charm at the base matches the dresses in the release, and the acrylic hearts are too cute for words!
