Happy New Year! 2020 Recap and 2021 Lolita Wishes

2020 is over! I know this has been a difficult year, but I'm looking forward to a fresh start. I wanted to share some of my highlights of the past year and the things I am looking forward to in 2021!

- 2020 Recap -

1. Tried Something New!

While I tried quite a few things this year, the proudest would have to be trying a new lolita style! I wore my first Gothic Lolita coordinate. While I am a Sweet Lolita for sure, it was fun to experiment and wear another style. I felt very elegant in the style and love that I let myself try it out. Now that I wear lolita fashion more often, it's nice to know I can grow in this fashion and occasionally express my dark side!

2. Connected with Other Content Creators

Just because we were in quarantine didn't mean we couldn't connect right? With so many fun tags and a huge social media presence due to COVID-19 this past year, I could collab with many new Lolitas or creators that I admire! It was such a pleasure to expand my lolita fashion contacts and subscribe to some new channels. Many of these tags were a fun challenge to do, and I enjoyed watching the other participants' videos! I want to do more collabs and tags with other creators this year, too!

3. Participated In 2020 Releases

I participated in some great releases this year! My favorite new release would have to be my Kumya's Twinkle Cosmetics JSK II and matching headbow. This series was released before my birthday so the timing could not have been better! In addition to the Kumya's Twinkle Cosmetics release, I was also able to get a Kumya's Christmas Market skirt, a Dreamy Lyrical Bunny Doll Pouch, and Cotton Candy Feet's Present Bag. I'm glad I could support lolita artists like Cream and Sugar Lolita, too!

- 2021 Goals -

1. Obtain a Dream Piece

Every year my wish list seems to get larger! While my heart is open to many different lolita pieces, there are of course my top items. These are the lolita pieces I will not hesitate to purchase! This year, I am determined to add at least one of these to my closet. But which one should I choose?! If I had to pick just one, it would be My Sweet Mate Kumya's BABY Anniversary Lillian Skirt by Baby, the Stars Shine Bright! I am very excited that Angelic Pretty will be re-releasing Sugary Carnival this year, too!

2. Try Something New

I love making lolita content and jewelry designs, but did you know that I have other lolita-adjacent likes as well? I'd like to schedule some time and practice drawing. It would be really special to make some enamel pins or prints available in my shop! It would be nice to finish my lolita fairy tales book series and illustrate it, too! Lastly, I'd love to make some designs of mine into a reality. I would love to make pieces, like my drippy-chocolate apron, for my own wardrobe. Who knows, maybe I'll sell some in the shop as well! We'll have to see.

3. Apply to More Conventions

Once the pandemic is over, I am REALLY looking forward to attending conventions again! In addition to attending, It will be so nice to meet new people and connect with my friends. I'd love vend at more conventions, too. It's nice to support other artists in the artist alley and see people react to my designs in real time! I usually only apply to my location cons, but Maine is close to numerous states, like Massachusetts, New Hampshire, Connecticut, and more!

What are some of your lolita highlights of 2020? What are you looking forward to in 2021? I'd love to know!

Stay Frilly~
