A Strange Reoccurring Dream I Have About Lolita Fashion
We all have dreams. Some of these dreams are realistic, while other dreams are abstract. All dreams are glorious renditions of your subconscious, or so I am told. I have had many dreams about lolita fashion. Many of these dreams can be considered typical or even normal creations. Most of my lolita dreams are that I shop at non-existing boutiques, locate lost items or construct strange lolita coordinates for last-minute use. There is one dream that reappears and one that is always the same. In this blog post, I will attempt to piece together the meaning of this particular vivid, strange and nostalgic dream.
The surface in which she found herself was soft and flexible. It did not take her long to locate the various textured materials. Her elongated digits probed her surroundings. The soft woven cotton, chiffon and delicate lace painted an image of what lay below. Outlines of petticoats, shirts, blouses, head bows, socks, shoes, and dresses could slowly be identified. The presence of these materials provided a strange sort of comfort. A smile grew stretched itself upon the lips of the wearer. Now the various strewn items could be identified. Callista could see the various shapes and textures as they littered the interior. The carelessly strewn romantic items encased the cave in its entirety. The woman could scarcely believe her widened eyes. How did she come to exist in this strange place?
Cautiously, the maiden searched with outstretched hands to confirm it was safe to proceed. A gentle give from the diverse fabrics gave her the confidence she required to press on. Each handle of a parasol or a heel of a shoe allowed her to advance towards the light. The maiden skillfully dodged the stray obstacles about her. As she advanced along the path, the way forward gradually began to shrink. The young woman found she could not advance as confidently as before. The space between the open earth became smaller and smaller until she could scarcely move. Her fingers reached desperately in the dark as they struggled to reach the light. The sharp and blunt edges of objects pressed in an uncomfortable manner into her skin. Unable to proceed the maiden willfully closed her soft brown eyes and allowed her entire being to be fully immersed into darkness once more.
…and then I wake up.
Strange isn't it? I have had a difficult time trying to figure out what this dream could possibly mean. After some research, I have a dream interpretation that may shed some light on this mystery dream.
According to The Dreaming Wizard, a hole such as this represents a transition. This transition can lead a person to transform. This reference cites Alice in Wonderland, where
Is that what may be represented in my dream? If so, what is the parallel in concerns to lolita fashion?
I believe the dream is the representation of my Lolita fashion journey as a whole. As a move about my adventure as a Lolita, there are trials I will encounter. Each trial will lead to experience that I gain along the way. As I purchase and collect more items I can grow as a Lolita and wear my desired fashion more often. Each experience allows me to become a better Lolita and, ultimately, a better chance to express myself. I believe the light is the complete idolized version of myself. I want to be the most creative, fashion forward, confident and show-stopping Lolita I can be. Perfection will continue to be an unattainable goal I strive to reach, but I struggle to make it a reality never the less. We will have to see if the dream changes in a few years, or even if the dream disappears entirely!
I hope you enjoyed my reoccurring dream! What do you think the dream means? What dreams about Lolita have you had?
