Review: Happy Birthday, Hitomi: A Sweet Lolita Set by PetiteBonita

A birthday is the perfect excuse to spoil my doll characters! My first doll, Hitomi, has a birthday in July. To celebrate her birthday, I ordered something special from my favorite doll fashion shop!

PetiteBonita is a wonderful shop for cute ball-jointed doll clothes! The shop always has adorable lolita, school uniforms, costumes, and anything else your cute doll could want. Since it is Hitomi's fifth birthday, I wanted to spoil her a bit with a full Sweet Lolita set from the shop. It didn't disappoint!

The set featured a shirt, dress, slip, and bracelets. As always, the shop owner was completely understanding when it came to the custom size request! I was also able to add a headbow and wristcuffs instead of bracelets. The items were made-to-order and arrived super quick!

Hitomi looked pretty excited to try on her surprise, too! She is dressed another Petite Bonita piece.

The wrist cuffs are so nice! They look just like the ones for humans, but are the perfect size for a ball-jointed doll. The elastic makes it easy to slip on and off. The pink ribbon at the top is a lovely touch!

This head bow is adorable! The lace trim matches the wrist cuffs perfectly. The printed material is a nice polyester and very light. No need for ribbons, because this bow has an easy to place hair clip!

Even the underskirt is adorable! It gives the dress another level of lift.

The blouse is beyond adorable! I look forward to pairing it with other pieces. Just like the other pieces, the print and details have been scaled perfectly! The sleeves are stretchy for a perfect fit.

The blouse has a zipper at the back to get Hitomi in, or out, of it easily. I love the lace along the bodice, and the ruffled collar as well. I'd love to pair this blouse with a skirt to show the gingham off.

Tada! The dress is beyond adorable. I love the overall design on the piece and the print. The bodice, with its tiny satin bows, is particularly charming. There is an overall print on the dress! The print features goodies like stuffed rabbits, strawberries, Jello, cake, hearts, flowers, candy and more!

Ordering & Communication:

10 / 10

Before I placed my order, I contacted the shop owner with my request. While Hitomi can fit into 1/4 scale items, it would be better if the skirt length could be adjusted. The seller responded to be quickly and said that the measurements, and my requests, could be made with my order! The Etsy system is very easy to buy from.

My items shipped quickly! I placed my order on 6/17 and my items arrived on 7/3. Due to the pandemic the shipping cost was higher than usual, but that is outside of the sellers control of course! All of the items are made from high quality materials. The seller is a truly talented tailor. I love that all the items are perfectly to scale! I am extremely happy with all of the items, and Hitomi seems happy too!

It you are looking for some cute looks for your doll, I highly recommend PetiteBonita!
