Review: Gothic & Lolita Bible, Final Edition
As my favorite publication comes to an end, I had to get my hands on the last copy of the Gothic & Lolita Bible. While the end of the publication is a sad realization, this issue will be on I will treasure.
I had a generous amount of reward points on my CDJapan account, mainly for my Maxicimam purchases. To use my points before they expired, I set to work to find some "freebie" items. Happily, I discovered that CDJapan had the final issue of the Gothic & Lolita Bible. How incredibly lucky!
With my extra points, I purchased not only one edition of the final Gothic & Lolita Bible but two! One of these issues will be used for a giveaway in the future. For now, let's move into the review!
As with all of my CDJapan purchases, my magazines arrived swiftly and safely within a bubble mailer. While I have other issues of the Gothic & Lolita Bible, I was especially impressed with the thickness of this particular release. The cover of the magazine was just a teaser of the goodies inside!
The coordinates in this issue are stunning! I love all the current fashion trends that are represented. I am a huge fan of the Classic Sweet Lolita style. I am also a huge sucker for fruits, printed ribbons, and galaxy prints. I would be hard pressed to find a Sweet coordinate in this magazine I do not like!
Each page of the magazine is a vibrant display of full coordinates and charming accessories. One of my favorite aspects of the Gothic & Lolita Bible is the unique ability to transform you into an almost magical world of opportunity. This is due to the elaborate and captivating photo sets that the brand used in to showcase their recent lolita releases. The models who are able to take part are fortunate!
I was so happy to see such diversity in the lolita coordinates featured. With all the dresses and accessories featured in this issue, I have expanded my "must have" lolita desires extensively.
Midori Fukasawa is my favorite lolita model, so I was overjoyed to see that she had been featured in different coordinates often! I just cannot get over how adorable she is, especially in recent releases ♡
To say that I was over the moon ecstatic to see my latest Maxicimam dress would be 100% correct! I own this dress in the sax colorway, but I have the desire to add the lavender to my collection as well.
In addition to the common shorter dresses and skirts, this Gothic & Lolita Bible featured longer length dresses as well. It was nice to see more Classic and Gothic styles among the delightful Sweet.
There were a few pages that showcased some unique and more uncommon substyle of lolita. I cannot recall another issue that represented Wa-Lolita pieces, or a more casual style of lolita. While both styles are not ones that I personally am interested in wearing, it was refreshing to see.
This is perhaps my favorite spread in the entire magazine. Not only are these Angelic Pretty prints stunning, but they feature one of my favorite lolita print themes, fruit! The cuteness of these prints is only enhanced by the pink and white adorable kitchen in which the models reside. I cannot get over how adorable the redness of the strawberries and cherries are against the pastel surroundings!
Street snaps are my favorite part of the Gothic & Lolita Bible! It is always nice to see what other lolitas are wearing, especially in the fashion's origin of Tokyo, Japan. It is a silent and welcome reminder that there are others who represent this expressive and elegant style worldwide every day!
We were completely spoiled in this issue regarding patterns! Included in the magazine are multiple do-it-yourself projects, which include directions to create a pannier and a headbow. Perhaps the pannier would be a challenge to adjust to multiple sizes, but the headbow should be simple enough! If I create an item from these patterns, I will be sure to share the completed piece on this blog.

For the last issue of a treasured magazine, this release did not disappoint. Each page was vibrant and filled with stunning coordinates and accessories. There was vast diversity represented for various lolita fashion styles, with the favorable representation of Sweet Lolita and Classic Lolita. We were completely spoiled in this issue with additional do-it-yourself patterns as well as full colored posters. There were many spreads of lolita fashion street snaps, and fanciful stage scenarios.
A rating of anything less of a 10 / 10 would be a grave injustice indeed. While we will not be able to enjoy future publications of the Gothic & Lolita Bible, this issue may lessen our disappointment. Thank you so much for reading and remember to…
